Sew your new favorite pair of shorts—comfortable, stylish, and made by you! Discover the satisfaction of creating handmade clothing in this beginner-friendly garment sewing class. Students will learn the fundamentals of sewing apparel while making a comfortable pair of everyday lounge shorts that are perfect for relaxing at home, running errands, or enjoying warm summer days. Throughout the class, students will gain hands-on experience reading a simple sewing pattern, cutting fabric accurately, assembling garment pieces, creating an elastic waistband, and finishing seams for a clean, professional look. Along the way, participants will build confidence with essential garment construction techniques that can be applied to future clothing projects. With a selection of fun prints and classic fabrics to choose from, each student can personalize their lounge shorts to reflect their own unique style. By the end of the course, you'll leave with a custom-made pair of shorts and the skills needed to begin sewing even more wearable garments. The Creator’s Studio Summer Fashion & Sewing Camp Policy Welcome to The Creator’s Studio Summer Camp! We are excited to provide a fun, creative, and safe environment where students can learn fashion design, sewing, creativity, and confidence-building skills. Please review the following policies carefully. Registration & Tuition Full camp tuition and a non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your child’s spot. Remaining balances must be paid before camp begins. Spaces are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.. No refunds will be issued for missed camp days, vacations, illness, or dismissal due to behavior. Drop-Off & Pick-Up Students may only be dropped off during designated camp hours. Parents/guardians must sign students in and out daily. Please arrive on time for pick-up. Only authorized adults listed on registration forms may pick up campers. Attendance & Absences Regular attendance is encouraged so students can fully participate in projects and activities. Please notify the studio if your child will be absent. Make-up days are not guaranteed. Behavior Expectations To maintain a positive and creative environment, students are expected to: Show respect to instructors, staff, fellow students, and studio property. Follow all safety instructions while using sewing machines, scissors, irons, mannequins, and other equipment. Use appropriate language and behavior at all times. Participate positively in camp activities. The following behaviors are not permitted: Bullying, fighting, or disruptive behavior Intentional damage to materials or equipment Unsafe use of sewing tools or studio equipment Repeated refusal to follow directions Parents will be contacted regarding serious or repeated behavior concerns. The Creator’s Studio reserves the right to dismiss a student from camp if behavior compromises safety or disrupts the learning environment. No refunds will be issued for dismissals related to behavior. Safety & Equipment Students will receive safety instruction before using sewing equipment. Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended. Students should wear comfortable clothing suitable for creative activities. The studio is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen personal items.
